Hi Team Stony Tennis,

Last Saturday we hosted our Parent & Child Tournament, and what a fantastic event it was!

With 32 players on court plus plenty of supporters cheering from the sidelines, the club was full of energy, smiles, and some brilliant family teamwork.

It was great to see parents and children competing together, supporting each other, and sharing such a fun experience on court.

Congratulations to our winners:
  •  Group A: Laszlo & Zeno
  •  Group B: Piotr & Matteo
  •  Group C: Darren (John ) & Jack

As the event organiser, I couldn’t be prouder of the atmosphere created by everyone involved. Our club is so special as you can bring all ages and abilities together and make a fantastic event. It’s really important to give children the opportunity to play with their parents, and I think the next event will be even bigger.

Thank you to everyone who participated and supported the event. We’re already looking forward to the next Parent & Child Tournament, which promises to be even bigger and better!

See you on court soon.

Happy tennising!

Hi Team Stony Tennis,

What a fantastic weekend we enjoyed at our recent Starter Tennis Tournament! With a brilliant turnout and a lively atmosphere, it was a wonderful celebration of young talent, enthusiasm, and developing match skills.

Unfortunately, the 9&U tournament had to be cancelled due to unplayable court conditions. Thank you for your understanding and patience.

                                                           16&U Tournament Highlights

Our 16&U players put on a superb display of tennis, with 12 competitors enjoying plenty of match play in a fun, positive, and supportive environment. We saw long rallies, smart point construction, great attitudes, and excellent sportsmanship—everything we aim for in our Starter Tournaments.

The round-robin format, combined with our new timed matches and “score as many points as possible” system, proved to be a big success. This format:

                                                                         16&U Results

 Winner: Zeno
 Runner-up: Getter

Group 2

Exciting New Inclusive Tennis Initiative - Volunteers Wanted.

2/26/2026

Hi Team Stony Tennis,

We’re proud to share an exciting update from Team Stony Tennis.

Two weeks ago, our coaching team successfully completed specialist inclusion training, equipping us with the skills and understanding to deliver high-quality tennis sessions for autistic children and players with visual, hearing, and learning challenges. This is a meaningful step forward in making tennis accessible, welcoming, and enjoyable for everyone.

Following this training, we’re delighted to confirm that we will begin working with a local school after Easter, and we couldn’t be more excited to put our learning into practice and make a real difference through tennis.

To help support this initiative, we are now looking for volunteers who would like to be involved in these sessions.

Volunteer time:
Wednesdays, 1:30pm – 2:30pm, starting after Easter.

No coaching experience is required—just enthusiasm, patience, and a willingness to support children in a positive sporting environment.

If you’d like to get involved or would like more information, please reply to this email or get in touch with the Team Stony office. Your support could have a huge impact.

Please reply to this email if you are interested to volunteer this session.

Thank you for being part of a community that believes tennis truly is for everyone.

Happy tennising!

We are delighted to announce that SSLTC has been selected to host a brand-new initiative in partnership with the tennis charity Bright Ideas for Tennis, called “I Play 30.”
This inspiring programme aims to make tennis more accessible for children with disabilities, and we are incredibly proud to be involved.

Through this initiative, we will be working closely with Redway School, providing trained coaches to deliver inclusive tennis sessions at the club for children with a wide range of disabilities.
The campaign is led by former British Davis Cup player Danny Sapsford, now Manager of Bright Ideas for Tennis, and we are extremely excited to support this meaningful project.

Free Training Opportunity

Before sessions begin, free specialist training will take place at the club:

Date: Thursday 5th February
Time: 12:00 – 3:00pm
Venue: Stony Stratford Tennis Club Ostlers Lane, Stony Stratford, Milton Keynes, MK11 1AR

The training will be delivered by either Danny Sapsford, Mark Bullock or Stuart Wilkinson, who together bring over 25 years of experience in disability sport.

This session is not just for coaches — it is open to anyone interested in learning how tennis can positively support people with disabilities and helping to make our sport more inclusive.

Hi Team Stony Tennis,

It was fantastic to see such an excellent turnout at our Starter Tennis Tournament on Sunday 18th January — a truly brilliant day for everyone involved.

Our 9&U and 16&U events were packed with enthusiasm, determination, and some impressive tennis. A total of 20 young players took to the courts, showcasing strong rallies, great teamwork, and a wonderful spirit of sportsmanship from start to finish. The round-robin format proved to be a real success, giving every participant plenty of match play and the opportunity to put their coaching into practice.

Congratulations to our winners:

9&U Champions
Group 1 – Winner: Thomas | Runner-up: Mia
Group 2 – Winner: Freddie | Runner-up: Rory

16&U Champions

Group 1 – Winner: Paru | Runner-up: Arjun
Group 2 – Winner: Martin | Runner-up: Sophie

A huge well done to all of our players for making the event such an enjoyable and exciting occasion. The confidence, focus, and positive attitude shown throughout the day were fantastic to see.

I’d also like to extend a big thank you to Coach Toby for running the event so smoothly, and to all the parents for your continued support on the day — your encouragement really does make a difference.

Our new competition format of timed matches with a “score as many points as possible” approach received excellent feedback. It helped players stay engaged, think tactically, and keep rallies flowing. We’ll continue to build on this structure to ensure our competitions remain fun, dynamic, and development-focused.

Looking ahead, we have more exciting Starter Tennis Tournaments coming up, with dates now live on our website. We’ll also be introducing new challenges and match-play opportunities designed to help players grow in confidence, learn match etiquette, and apply their training in a friendly competitive environment.

 Book your place here:

We look forward to seeing many of you at the next event!
